Kathmandu: According to the weather forecast division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, light rain is currently occurring in certain areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces, attributed to the prevailing monsoon in the country.

Meteorologist Sanjeev Adhikari from the division has predicted that there will be a relatively higher amount of monsoon-induced rainfall on Monday and Tuesday. The monsoon is expected to remain normal today and tomorrow, with a higher possibility of rain on Monday and Tuesday compared to Saturday and Sunday.

In Kathmandu, the federal capital, there is a chance of light rain tonight and moderate rain tomorrow afternoon. The department's weather forecast bulletin states that light to moderate rain is also likely in a few locations across all provinces, with scattered to moderate showers expected nationwide tonight.

Moreover, some areas in the Madhes province may experience light to moderate rain, while one or two places in the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces might encounter heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.

The department's latest data indicates that Pokhara has recorded the highest rainfall thus far, with measurements reaching 155 mm.

Overall, the forecast suggests that rainfall will continue in various parts of the country, with the likelihood of increased intensity on Monday and Tuesday.
